The Government has published proposals to reform what and how people pay for their care and support. ‘Caring for our future’ sets out plans that will protect people’s savings and homes from unlimited care costs and allow them to better prepare for the cost of their future care. The proposals include a cap on care costs people have to pay and increasing the threshold used for means testing.
The consultation will run until 25 October 2013 and asks people’s views on how these changes to the funding system should happen and be organised locally.
