Hairy Biker Si off road for illness

The Belfast Telegraph.co.uk Reports:

Hairy Biker Si King has said he is off the road for a while until he has recovered from his brain aneurysm.

One half of the foodie bikers with Dave Myers, Si was treated in hospital for the brain injury recently after suffering severe headaches.

He told the Daily Mirror: “There have been no lasting effects – none that you’d notice other than I am slightly madder than I was before. No deficit as they say.

“I just started getting a severe headache. Over a four-day period it got worse and worse and worse. I thought, ‘Oh my god I am in trouble here’. So I went and had a procedure.

“Now I go for check ups. It is a continual treatment and I will need some more. It was a life-or-death thing. It was critical when I went into hospital but now it’s not. It’s good they have fixed it.”

He explained: “I’m not back working yet. I want to keep myself right. The last thing I want to do is fall over on a shoot. I want to make sure I am 100 per cent fit. And I’m getting there.”

Si said of his co-star Dave: “He’s great – we are like two brothers. He just wants me to get better so we can get back on the road.”

The pair recently launched hairybikersdietclub.com after the success of their TV series which saw them lose weight while cooking delicious food.

Si said: “The feedback is brilliant. There was a great moment when one subscriber told me she had put her husband on a Hairy Diet but he didn’t know about it.

“He told his doctor he was losing loads of weight, thinking he was very poorly. He went home and his wife said, ‘You daft sod, you’ve been on the Hairy Dieters book for six months’. I thought that was a great affirmation.”
